Francis Boott ("merchant"), married Mary Tunaley All Saints, Derby, 25th July, 1805.

Followed by emigration to America where Francis set up the Boston trading partnership Boott and Farrow.

(This Mary not to be confused with another Mary, Mary Boott (1795-1878)

(daughter of Kirk Boott Snr.), who married William Lyman, 3 May 1821).

Derby, England.

(Samuel b. 19 August 1793, Ridgefield, Fairfield, Connecticut).

Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts.

Samuel: prolific aauthor, bookseller and publisher (click here),

including children' books written under the pseudonym "Peter Parley."

1836: Elected member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives.

1837: Member of the State Sanate.

1851-1853: American consul for Paris.

Samuel d. May 9th 1860 New Yotk City, buried Southbury Connecticut.

 

Frank Boott Goodrich

b. 14/12/1826, Boston, mA.

Like his father an author, Frank wrote under a pseudonym: "Dick Tinto".

Frank collaborated on plays including "The Poor of New York", "Romance after Marriage" and The Dark Hour Before the Dawn". Books included "The Tribute Book, a Record of the Munificence Sacrifice and Patriotism of the American People".

Frank m. Ella D. Schmidt, New York, 1859. No children.

d. 1894, Morristown, Morris County, New Jersey.

Edward: Massachsetts lawyer and historian.

(Son of Francis Cabot Lowell Jnr b. 5 Jan 1803, Waltham, MA., and Mary Gardner b. Jan 1802, Boston, MA).

Grandson of Francis Cabot Lowell (1775-1817), famous businessman and entrepreneur in the American industrial revolution after whom the city of Lowell is named.

Edward's wife Mary died 1874. Edward gave up law to look after the children and study. In 1877, Edward married again to Elizabeth Gilbert Jones (no childrn).

Mary marriage (2) to Jeremiah Lee, Brattleboro, Vermont, 1825. Jeremiah, a merchant and at a later stage U.S. Consul in the Mediterranean, was the grandson of Colonel Jeremiah Lee, a person influential in the American War of Independence. Following marriage, Mary and "Jerry" set up residence in Mt. Vernon St., Boston, close to the Port of Boston. For further details click here.
